Aurora teacher in court in student hit-and-run
DENVER — A teacher accused of critically injuring a Denver teen in a hit-and-run crash sobbed and shook in court as she appeared in court for the first time.
A judge set bond at $25,000 for 30-year-old Erin Jackson on Friday. She replied in a quavering voice when asked if she understood the conditions of her possible release.
KMGH-TV (http://bit.ly/13tikEV ) reported that Jackson is a fifth-grade teacher at AXL Academy, a charter school in Aurora. She walked into a police station before dawn Thursday and turned herself in.
Police say Jackson hit a 16-year-old East High School student crossing Colfax Avenue in a crosswalk Wednesday morning. The accident was captured on video.
