Ballots due by 7 p.m.

Haven’t got your ballot in yet? The clock is ticking.

Grand Junction voters have until 7 p.m. to drop off ballots tonight. Drop off locations are at Grand Junction City Hall, 250 N. Fifth St. and the Mesa County Elections Office, 200 S. Spruce St.

Election coverage will be broadcast starting at 7 p.m. on Mesa County Channel 12 and on live, streaming video on the city’s website, http://www.gjcity.org. The broadcast will continue until all ballots have been counted and tabulated.

As of noon today, 12,013 ballots have been received, representing a 34.9 percent of voter turnout.

A total 29,892 ballots were mailed to registered Grand Junction voters to vote in this election.

Ten candidates are vying for four City Council seats. Also, voters will have their say on whether property owned by Brady Trucking should be zoned industrial and whether the city can use excess dollars from TABOR, the Taxpayer’s Bill of Rights, to fund a number of transportation projects.
