Beauprez makes GOP guv ballot

Former congressman and one-time gubernatorial candidate Bob Beauprez will be on the June GOP primary ballot.

The Colorado Secretary of State’s Office announced today that Beauprez turned in enough signatures to qualify for the June 24 primary.

He will face former congressman Tom Tancredo, who also petitioned onto the ballot, and Secretary of State Scott Gessler and former state Sen. Mike Kopp, both of whom won places on the ballot at last Saturday’s Republican Party State Assembly.

The winner of that race will face Gov. John Hickenlooper, a Democrat who is running for his second term.

Beauprez turned in more than 22,500 signatures to qualify. He only needed 10,500 to make the ballot.
