Bells to be rung in Colo. for CT shooting victims

DENVER — Gov. John Hickenlooper is asking Coloradans to observe a moment of silence on Friday to remember the 26 people killed at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut.

Hickenlooper and governors across the country are calling for the moment of silence at 9:30 a.m. in local time zones, the hour of the shooting last week.

Hickenlooper is also asking government buildings and places of worship to ring bells 26 times in honor of those who died at the school.

The bells at Denver’s City and County Building near the state Capitol will be among those rung in their honor.
