Boot Barn to fill Jo-Ann vacancy at Mesa Mall
Boot Barn will be the newest addition to Mesa Mall.
The Western-wear outfitter will move into the storefront outside Sears currently reserved for Jo-Ann Fabrics & Crafts, which is closing in August. The move could happen as soon as this fall and most likely before the end of the year, according to Mesa Mall marketing manager Jammie McCloud.
“We’re excited we’re going to get Boot Barn before the holidays,” McCloud said.
California-based Boot Barn has 80 locations in Arizona, California, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico and Wyoming. Durango has the only Boot Barn store in Colorado. The stores carry footwear, apparel, hats and accessories.
Other stores recently added to Mesa Mall include Cabela’s and The Children’s Place.
The Jo-Ann Fabrics vacancy won’t last long, but a few storefronts remain open for leasing. The mall has a couple vacancies in the food court, a couple more in the wing anchored by Cabela’s, and two more vacant spots in other parts of the mall, according to McCloud.
Another empty spot has been leased and will open soon as the Halloween boutique, which will become a calendar store during the winter holidays.
The mall has space for about 80 shops, plus 10 kiosks and 12 free-standing buildings around the central mall.
“We’re doing very well,” McCloud said. “We’re very strong, especially in this economy.”
