Briefs: OA Art events September 05, 2008

Get your paint on at two Western Slope events for plein air (outdoors) painters.


•  The Mount Garfield Paint Out at Whitewater Hill Vineyards and Winery, 220 32 Road, is Saturday, Sept. 6, from 9 a.m. until artists are finished.
Artists bring a sack lunch, 2D art supplies and a check for $25. The only requirement for the paintings is that Mount Garfield be included. All paintings will be displayed at The Coffee Studio, 2913 F Road, with an opening reception from 1–4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 21.

•  Render the Rock is Saturday, Sept. 6, from dawn until 3 p.m. at the scenic Piburn Flats Road in Crawford.
Paint, throw, weave – all media is accepted at the festival as long as the landscape is represented. Later that day the artwork will be on display and for sale at a reception, wine tasting and auction at the Crawford Community Room. Over $1,000 in cash prizes will be awarded to artists in adult and youth divisions.
The cost to sign up the day of is $20. Art supplies are not provided.
