UPDATE: Broomfield man accused of prostituting teenager

DENVER — A Broomfield man was charged today with prostituting a teenage runaway for nearly two years, offering her through Craigslist in exchange for cash and methamphetamine.

Robert Felix Gonzales, 39, is accused of multiple violent and sex crimes, including trafficking in children, sexual assault on a child and soliciting for child prostitution.

Investigators say he met the girl in 2011 when she was 14 and living with a foster family. He’s accused of having sex with her, beating her, giving her drugs and alcohol and pimping her.
It wasn’t clear if Gonzales had a lawyer. None was listed as representing him in court records.

Gonzales had already pleaded guilty to harboring a minor in May for keeping the girl in his home and was sentenced to three years of probation and a suspended jail sentence on July 24. He was arrested on the latest allegations on Oct. 31 after the girl cooperated with authorities.
