Buck pulls support for Maes

DENVER — Colorado Republican gubernatorial candidate Dan Maes is vowing to stay on the ticket despite pressure from some in the state GOP for him to bow out.

Republican Senatorial candidate Ken Buck, a tea party favorite, withdrew his support for Maes today, joining former Sen. Hank Brown in reversing his endorsement.

Maes won the GOP primary in August without backing from the Republican establishment. He says people are “sick and tired of the machine.”

Meanwhile, Secretary of State Bernie Buescher says he will certify the November ballot by the close of business today, despite the ongoing campaign by Republicans recruit a new gubernatorial candidate.
