Central grad earns NCAA honor

Amy Kame, a 2010 Central High School graduate, earned the highest weekly honor in NCAA women’s basketball this week.
The senior guard for the University of San Diego was named the NCAA Player of the Week after averaging 20 points, four assists and nearly nine rebounds in the Toreros’ three wins.
The Toreros are now 15-0 on the season and ranked No. 24 in the nation.
In one of the wins, Kame scored 23 points, and had eight rebounds and a career-high seven assists. She followed up that performance with her first double-double of the season. The 6-foot player scored 28 points and had a career-high 11 rebounds in a win over the University of Pacific
