Chamber endorses Norris, Chazen, McArthur, Brainard for GJ council

The Grand Junction Area Chamber of Commerce this morning announced its endorsements for the four Grand Junction City Council races.

The chamber endorsed Phyllis Norris over Tom Kenyon in District A, Martin Chazen over Bonnie Beckstein and Laura Luke in District D, Duncan McArthur over Harry Butler and Robert Noble in District E and Rick Brainard over Bill Pitts for the at-large position. Kenyon, Luke and Pitts are incumbent council members.

“The Grand Junction Area Chamber has endorsed these candidates because they are passionate about creating a business climate that encourages job growth and are determined to make better financial decisions that focus on citizen priorities while making the city a better place to live,” Diane Schwenke, president and chief executive officer of the chamber, said in the statement.
