Chattahoochee Valley qualifies for JUCO World Series

Chattahoochee Valley (Alabama) Community College defeated Alabama Southern Community College 11-5 to win the Southeastern District title and qualify for the Alpine Bank Junior College World Series.

The top-ranked Pirates will make their first appearance in the tournament in the program’s history. They join Johnson County (Kansas) Community College, Miami Dade (Fla.) College and Midland (Texas) College in the tournament field. The remaining six teams will qualify through the weekend.

Chattahoochee Valley rallied to take a 6-3 lead in the sixth inning and added five insurance runs in the eighth. Alabama Southern made five errors in the loss.

The JUCO World Series is May 24-31 at Suplizio Field.
