Cherry Days in Paonia

Everything’s better with a cherry on top, especially when it’s the 67th annual Paonia Cherry Days Festival set for Wednesday through Friday, July 3–5, in Paonia.

The Cherry Days Festival’s food, arts and crafts vendors will open at 5 p.m. Wednesday, July 3, and will be open all day Thursday and Friday, July 4–5.

From 8–10 p.m. Wednesday, DJ Steve Garcia will spin hip-hop, rock and country during the Mix it Up Teen Dance on the festival’s Gazebo Stage.

Independence Day will start with a pancake breakfast from 6–9 a.m. Thursday at Paonia Town Hall. The Cherry Days parade will get under way at 10 a.m. Thursday, traveling along Grand Avenue to Paonia Park It will be followed by a root beer and ice cream social at the Paonia Museum.

Children’s activities will take place Thursday and Friday in East Park ,and there will be live entertainment and fun nonstop on the Gazebo Stage at Paonia Park throughout the festival. Try your luck at the cherry pie auction and eating contest from 1–2 p.m. Thursday on the Gazebo Stage.

East Park will be the site of more fun on Thursday with a car show from noon to 3 p.m. and Hogoballs, sumo suits and a rock climbing wall from 11 a.m. to dusk.

The Pure Paonia Cafe and Garden will be open all three days with Paonia beer and wine accompanied by live music at the Cafe and Garden venue stage.
