Church pastor arrested on child sex-assault charge

Jeremias Quintero

A pastor who runs three churches in Delta, Glenwood Springs and Grand Junction, was jailed Thursday on allegations he’s inappropriately touched a 14-year-old boy, the Delta Police Department said today.

Jeremias Quintero, of Delta, was arrested Thursday on suspicion of sexual assault on a child by a person in a position of trust. Bond was set at $60,000.

Delta police said an investigation was started after the parents of the alleged victim, a 14-year-old boy, came forward with allegations their son had been inappropriately touched several times.

Police obtained a search warrant for Quintero’s home prior to his arrest on Thursday.

Delta police said further information won’t be released “because of the sensitive nature of the case.”
