CIA contractor faces trial in parking lot fight

CASTLE ROCK — A CIA contractor involved in a fatal shooting in Pakistan faces a trial in a fight over a parking spot a few months after the United States paid more than $2 million for his release in 2011.

After more than a year of delays, a suburban Denver judge on Friday will hear whether the trial of Raymond Davis will proceed as planned next month. Davis is accused of causing back and other injuries to Jeffrey Maes (MAYS) in the Oct. 1, 2011, altercation.

Davis was held by Pakistani authorities in January 2011 after he shot and killed two men he said tried to rob him. Pakistan agreed to release Davis in March 2011 after the families agreed to accept more than $2 million.
