CMU men back in national picture

Colorado Mesa’s men’s basketball team is back receiving votes in the NABC men’s Division II basketball rankings.

The Mavericks (16-5, 13-4 RMAC) are in second place in the conference standings and received five points in the voting by college basketball coaches after wins over Black Hills State and Chadron State last weekend.

Of the 25 teams in last week’s poll, 13 lost games, causing several changes in the poll. Metro State (22-0) is still No. 1 in the nation, the only undefeated team in men’s Division II basketball. Fort Lewis, after splitting road games in New Mexico last weekend, dropped two spots to No. 22. Adams State, which lost to both New Mexico Highlands and Western New Mexico, fell out of the top 25 and is receiving seven votes this week.

Colorado Mesa makes the trip to New Mexico this weekend.
