CMU men moving up
After sweeping last weekend’s conference games against Western New Mexico and New Mexico Highlands, the Colorado Mesa men’s basketball team received 15 votes in the National Association of Basketball Coaches Division II national rankings.
Colorado Mesa (7-1, 4-0 RMAC) is five spots out of the top 25; Mesa received five votes last week. Metro State (7-0) is still No. 3 in the nation, with Adams State receiving 11 votes and Colorado Mines two. West Liberty (W.Va.) remained No. 1 in the nation with 12 of the 16 first-place votes.
The Mavericks play at Fort Lewis on Sunday night and at Adams State on Monday night before getting a break for the Christmas holidays.
