CMU women crack top 20

The Colorado Mesa women’s basketball team moved up to No. 19 in this week’s USA Today/WBCA coaches poll.

The Mavericks (8-0) are off to their best start since 1999, an 11-game winning streak to open the season. CMU is 4-0 in the conference, the only undefeated team in the RMAC, and plays Sunday at Fort Lewis and Monday at Adams State. The Mavericks were No. 25 in last week’s poll. Metro State is the only other RMAC team mentioned in the national rankings, receiving three votes.

Ashland (Ohio) University (10-0) received all 31 first-place votes and remained No. 1 in the nation.
