CMU women get No. 2 seed in regional
The Colorado Mesa University women’s basketball received the No. 2 seed in this week’s South Central Region tournament and will travel to Canyon, Texas.
West Texas A&M is seeded first and won the right to host the regional tournament starting Friday. The Mavericks (28-1), who won their second straight RMAC Shootout title Saturday, play Midwestern State in a rematch of last season’s regional championship.
St. Edward’s (Texas) is the No. 8 seed and plays West Texas A&M, with CSU-Pueblo seeded fourth and facing St. Mary’s (Texas). Tarleton State is third and faces Texas A&M International in the other first-round game.
The regional championship is Monday, with the winner advancing to the Division II Elite 8 in Erie, Pa.
