RSSColo. governor says he discussed jobs for Romanoff
DENVER — Colorado Gov. Bill Ritter says he discussed possible jobs for former House Speaker Andrew Romanoff with the White House shortly after President Barack Obama took office.
Ritter told Denver radio station KOA he also urged Romanoff not to run against U.S. Senate candidate Michael Bennet, but not in exchange for any jobs.
Ritter appointed Bennet to the Senate seat.
The White House has acknowledged discussing possible jobs with senatorial candidates Joe Sestak in Pennsylvania and Andrew Romanoff in Colorado. Both of them declined to step aside from challenging White-House backed incumbents.
