Colo. ski resorts closing for the season

DENVER — Several Colorado ski resorts are calling it quits for the season.

Eldora, Durango, Wolf Creek and Steamboat Springs have shut down their lifts for this year.

Ski officials called it a banner year for powder snow.

The Steamboat Pilot & Today reported that skiers there ended with a splash across an icy pond.

Durango’s official end of the season was April 3. But with snow in the forecast, the Durango Herald said management decided to open up this weekend one last time.
