Colorado agricultural exports up in first quarter

DENVER — State officials say Colorado’s agricultural exports in the first three months of the year were up 31 percent from the first quarter of 2010.

The Department of Agriculture said today that Colorado exported $284.8 million in agricultural products in the first quarter.

Meat products represented 61 percent of total exports and increased 29 percent compared with the same period last year to $175.3 million.

Canada is Colorado’s top agricultural export market.
