Colorado Mesa routes CSU-Pueblo in RMAC tourney

Colorado Mesa scored seven runs in the first inning en route to a 13-5 victory over CSU-Pueblo on Friday afternoon in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference tournament at Suplizio Field.

The Mavericks (39-10) advance to the championship game at noon Saturday. CSU-Pueblo defeated Highlands 9-6 Friday night and will get a rematch with Mesa in the championship game.

Austin Kaiser was 3 for 5 with a three-run home run in the first inning. Nate Robertson was 3 for 4 with a home run, triple and double. He was a single shy of hitting for the cycle.

Matt Allen (7-1) limited the ThunderWolves to five runs on nine hits and struck out five in 6 2/3 innings.

Mike Fabrizio (7-3), the RMAC pitcher of the year, gave up five runs on one hit without getting an out in the first inning.
