Mavs third in RMAC All-Sports Cup
Colorado Mesa University finished third in the 2012-13 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference All-Sports Competition Cup final standings, released Wednesday.
Adams State earned 885 points to win its fourth Cup. Colorado School of Mines, which won its first cup last year, took second with 835 points. Mesa was third with 792.
The Mavericks had two RMAC regular season champions (baseball, women’s basketball) and one tournament champion (women’s basketball).
The RMAC All-Sports Competition Cup is awarded to the institution which accumulates the most points over the school year based on its teams’ outcome in the RMAC’s four core sports (football, men’s soccer, volleyball, men’s and women’s basketball), along with six wild card sports.
Adams State’s 885 points is an all-time high in the RMAC standings.
