Colorado now checking for bubble boy disease

DENVER — Newborn babies in Colorado are now being tested for the so-called bubble-boy disease that protects infants with compromised immune systems.

In February, Colorado became the seventh state to require testing for the disorder, which requires many of its victims to live in protective bubbles until they can get treatment.

According to KCNC-TV, the disorder is one of 36 included in a blood test for newborns.
