Colorado Springs man sentenced in Iowa sex case

COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa — Authorities say a 51-year-old Colorado man has been given 10 years in prison for enticing an underage person to have sex.

Federal prosecutors say Richard Pearson, of Colorado Springs, was sentenced on Wednesday in Council Bluffs. Pearson pleaded guilty in June to one count of coercion and enticement of a minor. He must serve five years of supervised release after he leaves prison.

The indictment says the interaction between Pearson and the underage person occurred from mid-February to around April 20, when Pearson was in southwest Iowa. He’d driven there from Colorado to have sex with the minor.
