MONTROSE — A Colorado State Patrol trooper is recovering from injuries following a motorcycle accident while he was on patrol.

Investigators say trooper Todd Martin was trying to pass a truck on Tuesday when the driver turned in front of him. Martin was thrown from his bike and skidded about 60 feet.

Martin was taken to Delta County Memorial Hospital, where he was treated for multiple fractures, cuts and bruises before being released.

The truck’s driver, Clell Lambertson of Montrose, is facing charges of careless driving causing injury.
