Coors Field vendors told to move out

DENVER — Denver officials are reversing course and barring food vendors around Coors Field.

The city has an agreement with Coors Field that no food vendors will be allowed in the area around the ballpark, but the city allowed it for several years.

Denver Public Works spokeswoman Christine Downs says it was a mistake and the rules are now being enforced. Vendors who violate the rules could lose their city permits.

Rockies spokesman Jay Alves says the city made the decisions for all traffic and pedestrian safety issues surrounding the ballpark.

Vendors say they worked hard to build a customer base and moving back a few blocks will hurt their businesses.
