Coroner identifies driver killed in Sunday’s I-70 crash

The Mesa County Coroner’s Office today said Jacob Michael Hall, 21, was the driver killed in Sunday’s rollover crash on Interstate 70, which closed the roadway for more than six hours.

Hall, a Clifton resident who recently moved to the area from Maryland, had a blood-alcohol level of .299, more than three times Colorado’s legal limit for driving, the coroner’s office said in a release.

Hall was the driver of a 2006 Pontiac G6 that veered off the left side of I-70 around 20 Road, headed east, before striking a sign and rolling three times just after midnight Sunday. Hall was ejected during the crash.

Traffic on I-70 was re-routed to U.S. Highway 6 & 50 during an investigation, before I-70 was opened again around 6:30 a.m.
