Cox makes primary ballot; will face Rep. Tipton for 3rd CD

BROOMFIELD—Grand Junction resident David Cox made a surprise showing at the 3rd Congressional District Republican Assembly today, when he won a spot on the primary ballot against U.S. Rep Scott Tipton.

Cox, who ran a failed attempt for a seat in the Colorado House in 2010, won nearly 34 percent of the delegates.

He needed at least 30 percent to force a primary race against the two-term incumbent.

Read what the two men had to say about it in the Saturday edition of the Daily Sentinel.
