Coyote bites jogger near Boulder Creek Path

BOULDER — Open space rangers are stepping up foot patrols near the Boulder Creek Path in east Boulder following another report of an aggressive coyote.

The Daily Camera reports a jogger was bitten in the calf by a coyote Saturday morning south of the path in the latest incident. A man in the area helped the jogger chase the animal away.

On Dec. 24, a woman walking a dog was menaced by a coyote, but it ran away after the woman swatted at it with a stick and the dog intervened.

On Dec. 27, a cyclist said a coyote chased him on the path.

City personnel and Colorado Parks and Wildlife staff plan to meet Friday to discuss how to address the recent reports of aggressive coyotes.
