Crawford man, 23, dies in fatal crash

Twenty-three-year-old Cole Garber of Crawford died early today after he lost control of the pickup he was driving, according to the Colorado State Patrol.

Garber was pronounced dead at the scene by the Delta County Coroner.

Garber was traveling southbound on Crawford Road near Hotchkiss when his 2011 Nissan Titan pickup veered off the road, went airborne and caught fire after it crashed.

Excessive speed and alcohol are suspected as contributing to the crash, the Colorado State Patrol said in a news release.

The agency is investigating the incident.
