CSP: Fatal crash east of Montrose on U.S. 50

One woman died at a hospital and a man was seriously injured tonight after a two-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 50 east of Montrose. A third man may also have sustained injuries.

Identities of the people involved in the crash aren’t immediately available, according to Colorado Sate Patrol Trooper Josh Lewis.

Vehicles involved in the crash that occurred at about 5:45 p.m. include a 2002 Mitsubishi hatchback out of Montrose and a 2012 Honda four-door vehicle out of California.

The crash was called into dispatch as a head-on collision. The eastbound lane of traffic at the crash site, mile marker 107 is blocked tonight, Lewis said.
