Deadline Friday to apply for vacant GJ City Council seat
Grand Junction residents seeking to serve on Grand Junction’s City Council have until 5 p.m. Friday to turn in applications for consideration.
Qualifications to be eligible include:
- Anyone who is more than 18 years.
- A resident of Grand Junction for at least the past year.
- A registered voter in Grand Junction.
The at-large position was vacated by former councilor Rick Brainard. The term is up April 2015, at which time the seat will be filled by an election. Current councilors will appoint the new member.
Applicants should include a resume, a letter of interest and contact information to the Grand Junction City Clerk at 250 N. 5th Street, Grand Junction, CO, 81501. The office is open weekdays between 7:30 a.m. and 5 p.m.

City Council is expecting to chose a candidate during a Sept. 5 meeting.
