Death of woman found in Orchard Mesa irrigation ditch ruled accidental

The local coroner’s office issued a report today identifying the cause of death of a woman discovered in an Orchard Mesa irrigation ditch Tuesday as an accident.

According to the coroner, the specific cause of death is drowning, in combination with acute alcohol intoxication.

The deceased woman was identified as 66-year-old Constance Blumenthal.

An autopsy showed Blumenthal had a blood-alcohol content .141 percent, the coroner’s office said.
