Deltarado Days in its 75th year
The 75th annual Deltarado Days — a celebration that re-connects the community with the history of Delta County — continues Friday through Sunday, July 16–18, in Delta.
Beginning in 1935, Deltarado Days was a harvest celebration. Years later, the community still comes together to celebrate its rich agricultural and ranching heritage and much more.
Friday will feature music by Cory Brooks in Cleland Park from 4–6 p.m., barrel racing at the Horse County Arena beginning at 5 p.m. and the Key Club barbecue from 5–8 p.m. at Cleland Park (beer garden 6–9 p.m.).
A melodrama will be performed at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, at the Delta Center for Performing Arts.
Saturday has just about every event imaginable: a breakfast, golf tournament, classic car show, parade (10 a.m., from Ninth Street to Second Street), basketball, volleyball and horseshoe events, music, Kid’s Karnival (11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Cleland Park, $5) and a dance with the North Fork Band from 6–9 p.m. in the park.
Sunday will open with a cowboy church service at Horse Country Arena followed by team penning at the arena.
A community church service gets under way at 10:30 a.m. at Cleland Park with a family barbecue at noon.
Stick around for the ice cream social from noon to 3 p.m. in the park. Music and poetry will follow with the last band taking the stage at 3:15 p.m.
