Denver police say carjacking went awry

DENVER — Denver police say one of two men who tried to hijack a car was run over by his partner as they tried to get away on Tuesday.

Police say the suspects apparently thought another vehicle had been left running unattended, but the driver and another person were inside.

Investigators say there was a fight and one of the suspects started to run away. Police say that’s when his partner waiting in another vehicle ran over him.

The suspect who was hit has serious injuries and was taken to the hospital. The second suspect fled the scene and has not yet been arrested.
