Deputy punished for slamming handcuffed inmate
DENVER — A Denver sheriff’s deputy is appealing a 30-day suspension for slamming a handcuffed and shackled inmate into a Denver courtroom wall.
Deputy Brady Lovingier was disciplined after he slammed inmate Anthony Waller into a glass wall during a court appearance in 2012. Waller was in court facing charges for an unrelated assault case.
According to the Denver Post, Lovingier says he used that much force because Waller was being aggressive and refused to follow orders.
