DOW looking for input on bear management plan

The Colorado Division of Wildlife is seeking public input on a new black-bear management plan proposed for the Uncompahgre Plateau.

Two public meetings are scheduled: 6:30 p.m., Oct. 12, Mesa County Fairgrounds in Grand Junction; and 6:30 p.m., Oct. 13 at the Delta-Montrose Electric Association, 11925 6300 Road, in Montrose.

Brad Banulis, DOW terrestrial biologist in Montrose,  said the agency wants to hear from landowners, livestock operators, hunters, homeowners and recreationists in putting together the new plan.

The plan involves Game Management Units 40, 60, 61, 62, 64, 65 and 70.
