Drilling companies say White River rules limiting

ASPEN — The oil and gas industry says land closures and increased regulations being considered in the White River National Forest will make drilling uncompetitive.

The complaints come as the Forest Service is rewriting rules for where drilling will be allowed.

According to industry comments obtained Tuesday by the Aspen Times, three oil-industry trade groups contend that the Forest Service analysis is aimed at restricting oil and gas development.
