Electric co-op will lease solar panel space

The Delta-Montrose Electrical Association soon will begin   leasing electric capacity of its community solar photovoltaic panels to customers in Montrose and Delta. The program will begin Thursday.

DMEA customers will be able to offset monthly usage and provide credit to electric bills, the association said in a news release.

“With 20,000 watts of capacity available in these two arrays, I expect that these two new arrays will also sell out fairly quickly,” said Jim Heneghan, DMEA’s renewable-energy engineer.

The two solar stations are at the DMEA headquarters in Montrose and at the Read service center in Delta.

Leasing information will be available Thursday at http://www.dmea.com. For information, call 1-877-687-3632.
