Erie mayor hit with restraining order over rent dispute

ERIE — Erie Mayor Joe Wilson has been ordered by a judge to stay at least 100 yards away from a woman who rents property he is trying to sell.

The court order was issued after confrontations between the mayor and the tenant last week drew police to her home.

According to the Boulder Daily Camera, the temporary protection order was requested by 65-year-old Karol Hopper. It requires the mayor to appear in court on March 18 to argue why the order shouldn’t be made permanent.
