Ex-high school coach guilty of sex assault
LAKEWOOD – A girls’ high school basketball coach accused of sexually assaulting female students who attended the suburban Denver high school where he worked has been convicted of several charges.
KUSA-TV eports 27-year-old Wesley Adam Specht was convicted Friday of three counts of sexual exploitation of a child and one count of sexual assault on a child. He was arrested last April on allegations of inappropriate relationships with students at Lakewood’s Alameda High School.
Specht was acquitted of one count of sexual assault in a position of trust, one count of sex assault on a child under 15 and one count of attempted sexual assault of a child.
The jury believed he sexually assaulted one of the three girls involved. He was accused of sexually assaulting two of the girls and trying to sexually assault the other.
