Family schedules service for Birgfeld

As the family of Paige Birgfeld waits for answers as to why the 34-year-old mother of three was slain, the family is ready to let those who cared about her say goodbye.

A service for Birgfeld is scheduled for 2 p.m. April 28 in the Grand Junction High School auditorium.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be given to The Abbey & Jennifer Search Foundation, 2796 Cortland Ave., Grand Junction 81506, or to Latimer House, 1003 Main St., Grand Junction 81501.

Birgfeld went missing in late June 2007. In early March, her remains were discovered by a hiker near the Wells Gulch Road about one mile east of U.S. Highway 50 in Delta County.

No one has been charged in her death.
