UPDATE: Eastbound I-70 near De Beque open after flooding

The eastbound lanes of Interstate 70 east of De Beque have reopened after a closure because of heavy flooding, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.

Westbound I-70 lanes are still closed between mileposts 72 and 69.

U.S. Highway 6 along the same stretch is also open to westbound traffic, while eastbound lanes were still closed as of 7:30 p.m.

The National Weather Service had issued a flood warning for Mesa County, including in the area of last year’s Pine Ridge Fire outside De Beque.
