Former Colo. lawmaker Friedman dead at 83

DENVER — Former state lawmaker and congressional candidate Don Friedman (FREED’-man) has died.

His family says the 83-year-old Republican politician died Sunday at a hospice in Englewood after a long illness.

Friedman served in the state legislature for seven terms and ran for Congress in 1976, where he lost to Democrat Pat Schroeder.
