Former DA cleared in domestic violence dispute
ALAMOSA — A judge dismissed a criminal case against former 12th Judicial District Attorney Peter Comar, citing lack of evidence.
Comar, 63, and his wife, Yvonne, 56, were arrested in June by Alamosa police responding to a report of an alleged domestic violence incident. Comar had faced charges of attempting to influence a public servant and resisting arrest. He denied the charges.
Visiting Judge Arthur Smith dismissed Peter Comar’s case at the request of Durango District Attorney Todd Risberg, the Alamosa Valley Courier reported (http://tinyurl.com/kbda7bw ). Yvonne Comar’s case, involving allegations of domestic violence and harassment, was pending, the newspaper reported.
Peter Comar also denied allegations made by Yvonne Comar that he had a gun and was suicidal.
