Forsberg will not play against Columbus

ENGLEWOOD — Peter Forsberg acknowledged feeling better about his progress today but not enough to consider getting back into uniform for the Colorado Avalanche this week.

The 37-year-old Forsberg, who is considering a comeback with the Avalanche, ruled out any chance of his being back when Colorado hosts the Columbus Blue Jackets on Saturday.

Forsberg worked out with the team again, taking part in drills and even exchanging hard checks with David Jones, who has been sidelined by a shoulder injury.

Forsberg said he would skate again Saturday morning.
