Fort Carson’s new boss formally takes over

FORT CARSON — Maj. Gen. Paul LeCamera has taken command of Fort Carson, succeeding Maj. Gen. Joseph Anderson.

Anderson formally transferred leadership to LeCamera on Thursday at the infantry post outside Colorado Springs.

The Colorado Springs Gazette reports LeCamera’s previous job was deputy commander of Army Special Operations Command at Fort Bragg, N.C.

Anderson will be special assistant to the commanding general of Army Forces Command at Fort Bragg. The Army says that’s typically a spot for senior officers awaiting further assignment.

Anderson had been commanding general of Fort Carson and its largest unit, the 4th Infantry Division, since November 2011.
