Fruita Monument’s Muller defeated in preliminary round

Clayton Muller, a 126-pound junior at Fruita Monument High School, lost his preliminary round match Thursday night at the Colorado State Wrestling Championships. He was defeated by No. 2 ranked Anthony Apodaca, of Mountain Range, by pinfall. Apodaca placed second last year at 119 pounds.

Mueller now moves to the consolation bracket with the opportunity to finish as high as third place. The tournament continues through Saturday evening in Denver at the Pepsi Center.
