Police investigate death at Fruitvale home

Grand Junction police are investigating a death Sunday night in Fruitvale.

Police found a body in a home at 2908 1/2 Walnut Ave., police spokeswoman Kate Porras said.

Porras said a male suspect had been identified but was not in custody.

Police dispatch reports shortly after 9 p.m. indicated that a woman, 24, had been stabbed at the Walnut Avenue address and that a man with a knife was seen driving away in a black Honda Accord. The woman was reported to be not breathing.
